So, I've had some trouble in the past figuring out what should be happening with Africa, at various periods. I also haven't a clue with most of Asia and a lot of other places, but Africa really bugs me here because I want, in the future of the setting, for African nations to lead the world in a lot of ways. They form the one pillar of what becomes the Terran Commonwealth.
Mt. Kenya is the site of the best launch platform for large vessels into orbit, with it's base-to-peak "rail-gun", which is capable of hurling cargo into orbit with no launch assistance, and shooting people'd vessels into the stratosphere where ionized impulse engines can take over, saving literal tons of fuel with each launch.
Two of the first and most prominent Universities to include various magical/supernatural studies are in Africa, one in northern Africa, which is founded in part by Djinn and eventually is home to the world's first fully autonomous humanoid artificial life form.
And at some point, a coalition of organizations, wealthy Africans, and government representatives come together to build a pan African infrastructural overhaul, linking the entire continent with high speed rail, comprehensive renewable energy systems, and a EU-esque court system, which eventually evolves into a sort of mini-U.N., like the EU, kinda.
And for the most part, I'm ok with all that, and just sort of saying, and the increased stability, internally generated revenue, etc from all that helps to stabilize the nations that need stabilization, and embolden and empower the people of the most corrupt nations to reform their governments and take care of the destabilizing elements. But, it's not exactly a plan which exhibits a strong understanding of African nations and people.
So...yeah. IDK. just, venting, I guess? Anyone have any ideas, advice, etc, let me know.
