While I have no plans as of right now to develop material for playing in Chevar's past, beyond visiting it during a campaign, the world has been inhabited, albeit sparsely, for 15,000 years or so.
Three main races inhabit Chevar before the Modern Era; the so far unnamed "halfling" race, or homo florensis. Roughly 4 feet tall on average, nimble, and very smart, with a natural affinity for using Thaumic nodes and lines to travel both short and long distances, and a mysterious race seemingly native to Chevar, who possess extremely strong will and toughness, and a somewhat unfortunately low birthrate. The second race tends toward ruddy, reddish skin, very little hair, even on their heads, humanoid body and communication, and very long lifespans.
Also dragons. The dragons of the western regions of "main" continent are fairly benign. They tend toward insular isolationism, but are remarkably good friends when they make an exception, and tend to only attack outsiders when strongly provoked. Dragons are also found on the two southern continents, however, and they are not so nice. These dragons tend toward violence as a first response, and enjoy eating other intelligent lifeforms.
The western dragons are also capable shapeshifters, but evidence of their true form almost always makes itself known. These are the same dragons that breed with humans and other mortal races to produce the dragon men of the northwestern mountain range in the colonial region of Chevar, in the near and far future.
Visitors:
Trolls, goblins, djinn, occasionally alfar and various fey. Also, all manner of monsters, although they don't appear in great numbers until just before the Modern Era.
